About the Park

Los Nevados National Natural Park protects volcanoes, glaciers, páramo, high-Andean wetlands, and cloud forest across Colombia's Coffee Region. The park is open, but it is not one interchangeable snow excursion: every visit must use a REPSE-registered guide or ecotourism agency and follow the capacity, reservation, age, equipment, and access rules for one of four distinct sectors.

Plan Your Visit

The official park page lists Los Nevados as open. Entry must be arranged through a REPSE-registered guide or ecotourism agency, with mandatory accident insurance and sector-specific requirements.

Choose a sector
Select Brisas-Kumanday, Laguna del Otún, Cisne-Poleka Kasue, or Quindío-Dulima before booking. There is no public transport inside the park; use private or contracted transport suitable for unpaved high-mountain roads and the authorized entrance for your sector.
Before booking
Use a REPSE-registered guide or agency and buy the required accident insurance. Confirm capacity, fees, schedules, age limits, equipment, and closures; Brisas weekend and holiday visits require at least one day of notice, while central-sector reservations require three business days.
Conditions
Cold below 0 °C, rain, altitude, volcanic activity, road damage, and trail conditions can change the plan. Recheck the park and Servicio Geológico Colombiano updates close to departure, allow time to acclimatize, and keep a lower-altitude alternative.
